The idea of wearing your best clothes, especially your hats,
to the church to honor God is a Christian tradition that is especially strong
in the African American church. For black women the tradition stems back to the
days of slavery in America. Once work was finished, women would go to church
wearing colorful hats they’ve made from straw and other material. Wearing the
hat signified that they could endure anything. This latest installment of the
2022 Sunday Morning Calendar still reflects on this tradition by featuring
women of class and confidence all elegantly dressed in their Sunday’s best!
These daughters of the King take delight in adorning themselves in ways that
serve to display their growing endurance and glory. Each month reflects
encouraging scriptures to uplift you and offer you inspiration all year long.
